99x enters LMD’s Most Awarded 2019/2020 Hall of Fame

Technology company 99x stood amid Sri Lanka’s corporate giants as it entered LMD’s Most Awarded Hall of Fame, a compilation of the most awarded companies in the country from among the leading business houses ranked by LMD in 2019/20.

With a total of 11 awards and achievements during this time frame, 99x ranked 26th in the top 50. The first of its kind, this index was compiled by tallying the cumulative achievements of business establishments between January 2019 and September 2020.

“To be among the top 50 of Sri Lanka’s leading entities is a great achievement for us and truly a testament to our resilience in the face of the downturn brought on by the pandemic in 2020. Thanks to sustainable business practices and organisational flexibility, which enabled us to continue delivering our best even in times of adversity, and we continued to receive recognition for business excellence, technological innovation and more. It is this that has made it possible for us to be ranked on this index,” noted Mano Sekaram, Founder and CEO of 99x.

Some of the awards won by 99x considered for the listing included being ranked as a Best Workplaces in Asia in 2020 for a fourth year, being named Best Value-Added Exporter – Services and Gold in ICT services at the National Chamber of Exporters' (NCE) National Export Awards 2019 and Silver in Professional Services Solutions category at the National Best Quality ICT Awards (NBQSA).

Commercial Bank of Ceylon topped LMD’s inaugural list, followed by National Development Bank (NDB), Hatton National Bank, Talawakelle Tea Estates and People’s Leasing and Finance rounding off the top five. Of over 200 companies assessed, 125 were quoted companies, 55 private businesses, 16 multinational corporations and eight were state entities.
