Employee wellbeing in the hybrid work age
Employee wellness has come a long way from its origins of gym memberships and fruits in the lunchroom. Today, employee wellness has expanded beyond physical health; which now focuses on building a culture of holistic well-being to improve the quality of life overall.
The pandemic and the increase in remote work have significantly impacted on employee wellness. As employees are gradually returning back to their workplaces, it is important to align wellness initiatives with the new reality. At 99x, we understand the importance of workplace wellness and actively promote it within the organization. Here are some initiatives that 99x has conducted to prioritize employee well-being which is done along with a 99x initiative, Xians’ Well-Being.
Quarantine and Chill
During the pandemic, 99x took steps to ensure that their employees maintained a work-life balance despite having to work from home and reduced stress by creating the ‘Quarantine and Chill’ series, where employees could complete challenges as a way of staying connected with colleagues in an informal manner and receive rewards that they could share with their families. This would ensure a feeling of goodwill from family members in response to employees having to work at home.
Lockdown Recipe Roundup
To promote healthy eating habits during remote working, Xian Well-being innovative introduced a new program as “Lockdown recipe roundup”. Based on the theme of the month, they shared recipes every week and the Xians had to improve the recipe by including healthy ingredients to make it more nutritious. The most creative and healthier recipes won each week.
Wellness Breakroom podcast
To break down the stigma around mental health, Xian Well Being Innovative introduced a podcast series featuring Xians that discuss a range of things that can affect employee well-being from physical, social, emotional, and psychological aspects, along with tips and strategies to promote well-being.
Annual health checkup
The company offers annual health check-ups for the Xians, which helps them to identify their health issues before they become serious and affect their performance. These checkups encourage Xians in re-evaluating their daily choices. It pushes them to adopt a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise, and many more healthy habits.
Partnering with consultation platforms
99x has partnered with online medical consultation services, including oDoc and InReach Global, to facilitate online health consultation for its employees to fortify their wellness. These programmes allow Xians to assuage their distresses and have informative conversations with committed counsellors. These wellness platforms help the workforce build mental resilience, improve productivity and maintain motivation with their psychology-based tools for individuals and the workplace.
Flexible work culture
At 99x, the employees are given the flexibility to work in a hybrid work model which allows them to work in ways that are most effective for them. Through this approach, Xians have the opportunity improve work-life balance, spend time more efficiently, less burnouts and increase their productivity. At the core, we believe work is an outcome, not a time or place.
