Data Scientist
We are looking for a Data Scientist with 2-3 years of experience to join our team. This role emphasizes building insights-driven solutions and deploying cutting-edge AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs). If you excel in modern data science practices, machine learning, and deploying scalable solutions, this is an exciting opportunity to make an impact. The team is distributed across several countries, so communication will be in English. The work can be done remotely, with a monthly gathering at the office in Leiria.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and process large-scale datasets to derive actionable insights and support machine learning models.
- Develop, deploy, and fine-tune machine learning models to address complex business challenges.
- Utilize advanced data transformation and visualization tools to create robust and interactive reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate on AI-focused projects, contributing to areas such as prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and text processing.
- Design and maintain scalable data workflows and pipelines using modern tools for real-time and batch processing.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code to ensure robustness and scalability of solutions.
- Work with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) to deploy data and machine learning solutions efficiently and securely.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in modern ML tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or RAPIDS.
- Expertise with scalable data processing frameworks like PySpark, Dask, or Polars.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and techniques like feature engineering and hyperparameter tuning.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Plotly, or interactive dashboard frameworks (e.g., Streamlit).
- Knowledge of NLP techniques and LLM-related applications, such as prompt optimization and document retrieval.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience deploying scalable pipelines and working with microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and model monitoring tools (e.g., MLflow).
